Leslie Wilson is the author of two novels for adults and two for teenagers. She had a British father and a German mother, and her mother was a refugee in Austria in 1945. Her German family came from Silesia, and were expelled after World War 2. Her great-grandfather died in a displaced persons’ camp, and this background has contributed to Last Train from Kummersdorf, which deals with refugees in the dying days of World War 2. She has worked for a refugee charity. She lives in Berkshire with a husband and a dog, and has two daughters and six grandchildren.
