Emma is offering a critique of up to 3,500 words of your fiction or creative non-fiction, and a personally signed copy of my new book Get Started in Writing Historical Fiction, which is relevant to writing any kind of fiction. Your 3,500 words can be a standalone story, or part of a novel. If a novel, it helps if you can include some kind of outline or synopsis, however rough: it gives me the context of what I’m reading, and I can also comment on your plans for the rest of the novel.
Emma Darwin’s debut The Mathematics of Love is possibly the only novel nominated for both the Commonwealth Writers’ First Book, and RNA Novel of the Year awards. Her second, A Secret Alchemy, was a Sunday Times Bestseller, and Get Started in Writing Historical Fiction (John Murray Learning) was published in March 2016. She has a PhD in Creative Writing from Goldsmtihs, has taught in many places including the Open University, and blogs at This Itch of Writing.
