Lydia is offering either: manuscript critique for first three chapters and synopsis/5,000 words of a YA or adult novel, analysing plot, voice, pace, characterisation, dialogue and setting. NB historical fiction is my speciality. Or: critique of complete submission package for an adult narrative non-fiction book or memoir, including chapter outline, sample chapter, biography etc – up to 5,000 words total. Lydia Syson’s debut novel for teenagers, A World Between Us, was a Guardian Teen Bookclub choice, Highly Commended for the Branford Boase Award, shortlisted for the We Read Award, longlisted for The Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, Waterstone’s prize and UKLA Award (2014) and nominated for Carnegie Medal.
